Note: In ancient times, Jewish landowners used to divide their wealth into three parts. One part was used for their business, one part was put into the band to earn interest and one part was buried in a secret place in a field. Sometimes workmen in the fields would come upon such a long forgotten treasure by accident. Hiding the discovery, they would try to buy the whole field in order to obtain the treasure. Jesus was probably referring to this custom.
摘記：在古時，猶太人的土地所有者慣常將他們的財寶分為三等份，一份用在生意上，一份放在銀行生息，而另一份則藏在田地的一個秘密地方。有時候在田地上工作的工人會無意間發現了長久已被遺忘的財寶，他們會將所發現的藏起來，然後盡可能的買下整塊田地來獲得那份財寶，耶穌可能是提到這個風俗。

44 "The Kingdom of heaven is like this. A man happens to find a treasure hidden in a field. He covers it up again, and is so happy that he goes and sells everything he has, and then goes back and buys that field. 45 "Also, the Kingdom of heaven is like this. A man is looking for fine pearls, 46 and when he finds one that is unusually fine, he goes and sells everything he has, and buys that pearl.
